Correctly installing pull studs (also called "retention knobs") to the correct torque is essential for BT/Cat style tool holders. Too much torque and the holder will mushroom and the tool will not seat securely, too little and the stud could work free (catastrophically). Our socket adaptors allow the use of a standard 1/2" or 3/8" torque wrench to accurately and securely tighten your tool's pull studs. They have been designed to allow the user to push the socket firmly onto the pull stud, so there is no chance to slip off and round off or damage the pull stud. The socket is accurately machined, to tight tolerances, to hold the pull stud tightly so that the stud won't be damaged during tightening.
Generally BT30 studs will be tightened to around 8-20Nm / 6-15lb-ft to avoid mushrooming and distorting the top of the holder, however, consult manufacturer specifications. We can laser your preferred tightening specifications onto the socket for easy recall.
